I am an Unfinished Space
A construction zone
A work in progress
I have not arrived
I am far from the finish line
I am a sinning saint who is nowhere near perfect
But I can relax knowing
I am not the Architect, but the building;
Not the Artist, but the painting;
Not the Writer, but the poem.
God is shaping this clay into His masterpiece.
How glorious I will be:
Pure, blameless, spotless, righteous,
Beloved, courageous, virtuous,
Strong, admirable, excellent, and true—
Glorious, beautiful, happy, good, wise, and sure.
I’m not there yet, just on my way.
But I press on, reaching out for Christ,
Who is reaching out for me.
I am still an Unfinished Space, but this thing I do:
Putting the past behind me…forgotten…
And straining toward the prize.
I’m off and running. I’m not turning back.
I know that the God who began this in me won’t rest
Until this Unfinished Space is finally Complete.
